Chapter 4: Types of Storage

Tanpa ku sedari cuti raya dah habis..hihi kita sambung kerja dan study lagi..

ok mari kita sambung lagi dengan cerita kita yang belum habis lagi tu.

      Setelah bercuti beberapa hari,. Hari ni sambung lagi la dengan chapter seterusnya iaitu chapter 4; TYPES OF STORAGE..ataupun jenis-jenis penyimpan maklumat atau data. Ia bermaksud tempat menyimpan data,benda atau informasi untuk masa-masa yang akan mendatang.

Ini ialah antara contoh-contoh tempat penyimpanan data;

Hard Disks

-can store data using longitudinal recording or perpendicular recording.

- Characteristics of hard disk include; 

a. capacity

b. platters

c. read/write heads

d. cylinders

e. sectors and tracks

f. revolutions per minute

g. transfer rate

h. Access time

Flash Memory Storage

- Flash memory chips are a type of solid state media and contain no moving parts.

Cloud Memory storage

- Internet service that provides storage to computer users. 

- Benefits using the cloud storage is,

1. Access files from any computer

2. Storage large files instantaneously

3. Allow others to access their files

4. View time-critical data and images immediately

5. Store odd site backup

6. Provide data center functions

Optical Discs

- An optical disc consists of a flat, round, portable disc made of metal, plastic, and lacquer that is written and read by laser.

5. Blu-ray Disc-ROM (BD-ROM)

Tape

- Magnetically coated ribbon of plastic capable storing large amounts of data and information.

Smart Cards

- Stores data on a thin microprocessor embedded in the card.

Microfilm and Microfiche
- Store microscopic images of documents on a roll or sheet film.
